Who We Are
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NIV)
The Foundation of NCT:
New Clark Temple (NCT) is a Christian organization that was founded upon the Holiness-Pentecostal tradition by its founding leader, Bishop Monroe J. Clark. It was once one of the largest Pentecostal organizations during its operation within the Oak Grove/Great Bridge area in the City of Chesapeake (formerly Norfolk County). Under the initial leadership of Bishop Monroe J. Clark, New Clark Temple, later renamed as St. Stephens Holiness Church, was officially established on June 20, 1954. Under the anointed leadership of Bishop Monroe J. Clark, St. Stephens Holy Churches of America was born with many great leaders and ministries within its ministerial establishment.
Churches Established
In the 1950’s to the 1980’s, Bishop Monroe J. Clark, Founding Prelate of NCT, went on to grow the St. Stephens Holy Churches of America into an established ministerial organization that was greatly committed to the Great Commission and Great Commandment in the local and national Body of Christ. St. Stephens Holy Churches of America grew until his passing in September of 1996. After the heavenly transition of Bishop Monroe J. Clark, Bishop John R. Savage would then be appointed as the new Presiding Prelate. Bishop John R. Savage dutifully carried on the anointed works of Bishop Monroe J. Clark and the St. Stephens Holy Churches of America organization under his leadership and God-given ministerial organization, the United Pentecostal Churches of America (UPCA). Elder Paul H. Arrington, former Pastor of St. Stephens Holiness Church in Chesapeake, Virginia, accepted his pastoral call and served in the leadership capacity for over 25 years. He was ordained as the official Pastor of St. Stephens Holiness Church years prior to the passing of Bishop Monroe J. Clark.
